Here are some easy to prepare on the go meals for when your short on time. Each of these meals acts as one of your 5 or 6 meals of the day. Take them to work, class, or any social event.
Quick meal 1:
4 oz lean lunch meat (turkey or chicken breast 2 grams of fat or less) and 1 fruit of choice. (my favorites are apples, grapefruits, and any kind of berries)
Quick meal 2 : Tortilla to go wrap
Ingredients:
1 large whole wheat tortilla wrap. (Like before I recommend La tortilla Factories “Smart and Delicious” large whole wheat, rye or pumpernickel wraps. Each wrap contains 90 calories, 3 grams of healthy fats, and 12 grams of fiber you can find these in the deli isle at your local Giant food store)
3 ounces lunch meat
2 slices Krafts fat free American cheese
1 to 2 teaspoons mustard and or 1 to 2 tablespoons salsa
Optional: lettuce and tomatoes
Quick Meal 3:
1 100 % whole wheat English muffin with 2 tbsp of peanut or almond butter. Optional 1 tablespoon sugar free jelly
Quick Meal 4:
take 1 cup of yogurt or cottage cheese and combine it with 1 cup of a high fiber cereal or 1.5 cups of berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries ect.) Also add a packet of Splenda if you desire. Put it in Tupperware and go! Just don’t forget to throw in a plastic spoon like I have many times.
My favorite cereal is Giant’s “Fiber Select” cereal. 1 cup contains 100 calories and 28 grams of fiber. Mix this with 1 cup of yogurt and cottage cheese and I promise it will fill you.
